What Is Zerona: Blasting fat with a laser, not surgery
Zerona is a new, non-surgical procedure that uses a 'four-armed laser' to blast away fat cells in a targeted area.
Fewer fat cells in the tummy mean a smaller tummy. It’s that simple.
The procedure is just as straightforward.
Zerona lasers cause fat to seep out of a cell and into the lymphatic system. The body eventually uses that zapped fat as energy. That is why Zerona users will see best results if they keep to a healthy diet and active lifestyle.
Zerona is owned by Erchonia Medical in Texas. It has beens marketing itself to consumers for some time, and the technique was approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a non-surgical fat killer in September 2010.

Does Zerona work?
Scouring the web for testimonials, results seem to be mixed.
One woman lost 11 inches from her midsection and kept them off. Another woman said that she saw no results after the full cycle of treatments, plus some extras.
Zerona is offered by doctors like dermatologists and plastic surgeons, and also by chiropractors and medical spas. Zeltiq, on the other hand, is another non-surgical lipo that freezes away fat, and it is only available through doctors, primarily plastic surgeons and dermatologists.
What does Zerona cost?
Zerona can cost between $1,700 and $3,800 for six sessions.
Because it is an elective treatment, it is unlikely that Zerona is covered by insurance.

This is very interesting, I had never heard of this procedure. It sounds like an option for people who are not up for surgery or can't do diet pills. Sometimes getting a jump start along with good diet and exercise can be life changing. Thanks for the new info! Voted up and useful...
